Last night, a pre-VMA party, hosted by Chris Brown, took place at 1OAK nightclub in Los Angeles. The night ended on a bad note as Suge Knight was shot 6 times, in the stomach and arm, outside the club.
A few months ago, Gucci Mane pleaded guilty to the charge of possession of a firearm. Today, the rapper was sentenced to 39 months in federal prison for the conviction. He has already been in custody for 11 months and will continue serving 28 more months, after which he will be released with 3 years of probation. According to AJC, Gucci asked the judge to transfer him to a West Coast prison with a drug rehab program to get away from local influences in Atlanta.
On the music side, Gucci has flooded the streets with new music throughout the year, with his latest release being ‘Gucci Vs. Guwop’. He does not plan on slowing down anytime soon as he has various projects on the way before the year is over.
After being together for over a year, Future and Ciara have broken up, 3 months after having their son Future Zahir Wilburn. According to US, Ciara decided to call of the engagement after she discovered that Future cheated on her. The R&B singer is reportedly devastated and making her son the main focus of her life.
After reconciling last month and appearing together at the 2014 ESPY Awards, Drake and Chris Brown were aiming to further cement their new friendship by performing together live for the first time. The plan was to debut a new record they worked on at OVO Fest 2014 in Toronto this weekend but it appears that wont be happening anymore.
According to TMZ, Chris was invited by Drake to attend and perform at OVO Fest, which he accepted. Later, his team informed the R&B singer that he would not be able to enter Canada, based on their zero tolerance policy for criminals. It would have been interesting to see them perform together, especially since the track is rumored to have references to Rihanna.

Trinidad James took to his Twitter account to announce to the world that he has been dropped by his label Def Jam Records. The Atlanta rapper signed with them back in 2012, after his breakout hit ‘All Gold Everything’, and released an iTunes version of ‘Don’t Be S.A.F.E.’, a mixtape called ’10 PC Mild’ and even did a track named after the label.
With the announcement, he says that his debut album will now be released for free and that rappers and producers should not ask him for any money for the placements because he is broke.
