Here are the nominations for the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, which take place at The Forum in Inglewood, California on August 24th. Leading the pack is Beyonce with 8 nominations, including Video of the Year, Best Female and Best Collaboration for several tracks from her surprise self-titled album. Eminem and Iggy Azalea got 7 nods each, while Jay-Z, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Pharrell Williams and Ariana Grande have multiple nominations.

MMG rapper Meek Mill suffered a major setback yesterday when he was sent to jail for violating his probation and is expected to serve 3 to 6 months. According to TMZ, the rapper had multiple violations of his parole, such as posting a picture with a gun, scheduled concerts without getting them pre-approved and changing his mobile phone number without telling them. Meek’s camp is saying that the District Attorney did this to hurt Meek as he has a new album ‘Dreams Worth More Than Money’ dropping on September 9th. There are also reports that he is only going to serve 3-4 weeks.
Update: Rick Ross has released a statement regarding Meek Mill’s arrest.

At the 2014 BET Awards, French Montana told MTV that he has been in the studio with Kanye West and the two have already done 5 tracks together. This morning he decides to give us a preview of one of those collaborations called ‘Money Can Change That’. Hopefully we get to hear the full thing soon. French is currently working on his next album ‘Mac & Cheese 4′.

Back in 2011 at the BET Hip Hop Awards, rumors spread that there was tension between MMG labelmates Meek Mill and Wale after an interview with Bossip. The two denied them and we havent heard anything since. Today, things finally boiled over as Meek took to his Twitter to diss Wale for not promoting his upcoming album ‘Dreams Worth More Than Money’, which hits stores September 9th.

Angie Martinez had her last show on Hot 97 today as the media personality announced her departure from the station. She took to her Instagram to deliver the surprising news. Angie has been at Hot 97 since 1996 and now there are rumors that she may be joining rival station Power 105.
Update: It has now been confirmed that Angie Martinez has officially joined Power 105. She will be getting the 2PM-6PM slot. Here is what she had to say:
