Talib Kweli Talks About Rick Ross' ‘U.O.E.N.O.’ Lyrics & Beyonce's 'Bow Down'

Marc Lamont Hill hosted a HuffPost Live segment earlier today to talk about the controversial lyrics in rap today, such as Lil Wayne’s verse on the ‘Karate Chop’ remix and Rick Ross’ verse on Rocko’s ‘U.O.E.N.O.’. Joining him in the discussion were rapper Talib Kweli, Ebony Magazine’s News & Life Editor Jamilah Lemieux, Washington Post columnist Rahiel Tesfamariam and activist Rosa Clemente. Here is a clip which has Talib Kweli talking about Rick Ross’ ‘U.O.E.N.O.’ lyrics. He says that Rick Ross is misguided and the apology he gave was unacceptable. He says artists need to be approached with love and not placed outside the culture. He also spoke on Beyonce’s latest record ‘Bow Down’ and feminism.

I also included the full 35 minute segment where the group talk about Lil Wayne’s Emmett Till line, violence against women and the role Hip Hop artists and American communities should play in rejecting this content.
