T.I. Talks About Not Clearing Gotye Sample For 'Memories Back Then'

T.I. recently linked up with Kendrick Lamar and B.O.B in Los Angeles to shoot a visual for ‘Memories Back Then’. While on the set, he spoke MTV about how the record came about and gives the story of how they were unable to clear the Gotye sample for the original version. He says they remixed the beat and removed the sample from the track and he feels it turns out just as good, if not better.

He also spoke to Rap-Up about the ‘Trouble Man’ sequel ‘He Who Wears The Crown’ and says it is 60-70% done. He also reveals that he plans to shoot visuals for ‘Hello’, ‘Guns And Roses’ and ‘Hallelujah’. Finally, he speaks on the upcoming Hustle Gang compilation album and says he might make ‘Memories Back Then’ the first single off that project.
